NSK Olimp competitor Alex Stoinov managed to fight for a place at the upcoming European Youth Olympic Festival. The event will take place between 24.07. – 30.07. in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. At the qualifications held in April, he once again set the best time among his peers and ensured his participation in the prestigious sports forum.
"For me personally, it is a great honor to go outside Bulgaria and represent my country at a high level. Of course there is tension, and it is the way it should be, but I also try to isolate it so that I don't overreact and fail to give my best," says Alex.
His personal coach - Petar Ivanov, who is in charge of leading the other three Bulgarian swimmers in Slovakia, is adamant that the swimmer's ranking at the Olympic festival is the result of daily efforts and the incredible ambition and dedication to the sport, that Alex demonstrates.
The cherished goal goes through the achievement of short-term ones, such as the participation of Alex Stoinov in Slovakia. For the requirement set there by the coaches and the competitor himself is a ranking in the semi-finals.
Alex is a believer. There is also an additional motivation stronger than the idea of any medal – to prove himself to the person who believed the most in his successes – his late father.
