With each passing year, our team is getting closer to its aspirations. Charged with energy from competitions and training, we have become even more motivated to achieve the club's goals, because small things repeated with consistency every day, over time lead to great achievements. In this regard, we have started the development of the "Program for developing athletes at the European and World Level". It sets out the stages, methods and specifics in the process of creating a competitive athlete. Step by step and this year we have proven that a clear goal, unreserved dedication and the right actions lead to maximum results.
We recorded a historic success at the club level at the National Swimming Championship in the age group 11/12 years in the city of Blagoevgrad. Branimir Pavlov became a two-time champion in the events 100 m. and 200 m. backstroke, which gave him the opportunity to become the third national champion in the club since its establishment.
"I have always known that the biggest battles in life are fought daily in the quietly in our souls." With these words, 75-year-old swimmer and club coach Angel Milkov emerged from the water after managing to swim 20 km in a remarkable 7 hours, 45 minutes and 43 seconds, setting a world record for his age.
On July 17, our coach and competitor Tsanko Tsankov made a historic swim across the Burgas Bay in 14 hours, 24 minutes and 34 seconds. The swim itself was performed in accordance with the rules of FINA and LEN, which require for the first time in history to be determined the exact geographical boundaries of the Burgas Bay.
For every athlete, a competition is an important event. During it, you can show what you have learned, compare yourself to the competition, build qualities in a competitive environment that will help you improve and grow in the long term as a competitor and beyond. And when you stand on the starting block, you know that you are in the right place.
In addition to technical skills and aerobic endurance, which the coaches work on together with the children during the camps, emphasis is also placed on personal development. As educators, the coaches believe that before the realization of any big or small dream, there is our growth as valuable people. Only a small, but significant part of the changes that occur in the minds of children during camps, is the acceptance of difficulties as part of success and an opportunity to become better, and last but not least, taking responsibility for our actions.
We implemented our latest idea, directly related to the motivation of children. The event was held on 21.11.20 at Spartak swimming complex, where a small celebration was held for the children from the club. We believe that the bracelets, in addition to an achievement, are a symbol of respect for the sport, which the children demonstrated before the committee, consisting of three people - our special guest, the famous Bulgarian swimmer Petar Stoychev and our coaches N. Mollov and L. Simeonov.
110 children between the ages of 6 and 12 took part in the competition, demonstrating the skills they had accumulated over the year in the aquatic environment. We are happy that we gathered so many enthusiastic and sports-loving children in one place and we wished them to continue playing sports in order to experience the real benefits that swimming brings.
