All in Attitude!
During the summer camp of "NKS Olimp" in Sandanski, our swimmers emphasize both intensive training and a wide variety of activities to improve themselves on an individual level. One of them is the lesson on patriotism and Christian values, organized jointly with the "Our Home is Bulgaria" foundation. Our special guests were the founder of the organization Arch. Plamen Miryanov and the actor Yanko Lozanov. With interesting stories, games, poems and songs, the two engaged the children in an exciting discussion and in a curious way explained to them why love for the country and Christian virtues are important not only for their sports development, but above all for their path in life as full-fledged people. And with his masterful embodiment in various roles and the narration of the fairy tale "Grandmother Metsa and the Donkey", Lozanov made the children laugh, cry and empathize with him in the story.
Through the talk, the children understood that an army can make a country strong, but culture, virtues and spirituality can make that country civilized. They realized that being a good person makes you an example to others. They learned that love for one's neighbor and forgiveness are most important; that they should help each other; to empathize with the plight of others and sincerely wish them the best. In order to be guided by the right values and virtues, the children also received a special gift - the Bible.
The talents of "NSK Olimp" also impressed the guests with their knowledge of faith and Bulgarian history and culture. 7-year-old Nikola Parvanov left everyone speechless after reciting one of Hristo Botev's most iconic poems - "Farewell" in an incredible way from beginning to end. 8-year-old Anna Kozovska also appeared on the unique stage, who knew by heart another favorite poem of our nation - "I am Bulgarian" by Ivan Vazov. And finally, everyone together, in one voice, sang the national anthem of Bulgaria. At NSC "Olympus" we believe that love for the homeland also positively affects the performance of each and every athlete. National self-awareness is an invariable part of the quest for success on the international stage. That's why initiatives like this will continue to be part of the club's educational program.
